Cognate Categories


The Earth and Society cognate provides non-science students the knowledge and background to understand: 1) the causes of geological hazards (earthquakes, volcanoes, floods) and their effect of on human habitation, 2) the economic value and finite nature of natural resources (minerals, petroleum, water), and 3) the broader influences of the Earth on other disciplines (Business, Politics, Art, Technology).
