Cognate Categories

Description

The courses in this cognate will allow students to develop hands-on skills in the studio by exploring different materials and techniques in the production of 3D works of art. Apart from studio courses in art and architecture, most university courses do not give students the opportunity to use their hands to make objects by modeling or using tools. This cognate will allow students to gain first hand, tactile knowledge of technical processes as they make works of art from raw materials. Learning by doing is valuable for all students, although students in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics may find the experience especially useful.
