The literature, history, and culture of France and French-Speaking parts of the world, from North Africa to the Caribbean to Canada. Topics include general surveys of French literature or modern French history; studies in the French novel, theater, film, and other forms of French popular culture; and the literary, historical, and cultural experience of French imperial and Francophone post-colonial regions of the world.
