This cognate provides a grounding in principles of environmental policymaking. It covers basics of current environmental issues such as climate change, energy, resource depletion, toxic pollution, species loss, worldwide growth of cities, and conservation. Students will gain an understanding of how environmental policy is made at local, national, and transnational scales, and come away with a more nuanced view of how science, the media, governance bodies, and the public interact.
