Cognate Categories

Description

This Classics cognate focuses on ancient Greek language and literature. In the introductory and intermediate courses, students learn the skills necessary to read ancient Greek literature and to appreciate translations of literary works, while the more advanced courses engage students in the analysis and interpretation of key works in the Western literary canon.

Creative Drawing and Design Stressing Imaginative Use of Visual Materials

Two courses in imaginative drawing, painting and design which integrate basic art-making concepts with the student's innate creativity, with alternate third choices in various imaginative uses of visual materials.

Critical Thinking and Writing Skills Paper Writing.

Critical thinking and writing are required in academic departments, the law, government, and other fields. There will be discussion of analytic techniques and close mentoring of paper writing using critical thinking and writing skills.

Exploration of the art, history, religion, and literature of the Renaissance in Europe across linguistic and geographic borders.
