Description

The Physical Well-being Cognate is comprised of courses aligned with the School of Education and Human Development's focus on well-being in multicultural communities. These courses integrate theory with practice, while sharing a specific regard to the complementary nature of multiple types and ecological levels of well-being, with an emphasis on lifestyle aspects of disease prevention, increased functional life expectancy, and an improved quality of life. This cognate aims to enrich the student knowledge on physical well-being, with an emphasis on physical components, while enabling them to articulate its multiple facets, as they learn effective mechanisms to foster happiness, health, and prosperity in a diverse and global society.
