Cognate Categories

Description

A basic knowledge of sociological principles and show students how these principles can be used to understand health behavior, health disparities, and the health care system. Students will learn the role sociocultural factors play in the uneven distribution of disease and illness across society and will become informed about various interventions to alleviate health inequities. Additionally, the cognate provides students the opportunity to learn the basic principles of social science research and its application in the health sciences.
