Description

The Architecture and Urbanism Cognate explores a fundamental aspect of civilization – the development of cities and relationship between urban design and architecture. The unique and shared aspects of architecture and urbanism both represent and shape politics, economics, culture, and health. This cognate provides a framework for foundational knowledge in historic and current issues in urban design. A selection of online, lecture, seminar and travel courses introduces analytical tools as well as direct experience that enables a critical assessment of the role of architecture and urbanism in society.
